No — Kard partners with a CBN-licensed Payment Service Bank for issuance and settlement. Your funds stay in your existing bank accounts; Kard is the switching layer on top.
How does switching accounts work?+
You mark one linked account as ‘active’ in the app. The next authorisation on your physical or virtual card routes to that account in real time. Switching takes under a second.
What happens if I lose my card?+
Tap Freeze in the app to block all authorisations instantly. Order a replacement from the same screen — your linked accounts and settings carry over.
Are there hidden fees?+
No. Kard Standard is free forever. Kard Gold is a one-time ₦2,500 for the physical card. Zero markup on FX for Gold holders.
